What is Chubb Critical Illness insurance?

Chubb Critical Illness insurance provides a lump sum benefit payment if you are diagnosed with a covered illness, helping to pay for out-of-pocket medical and other expenses.

What illnesses are covered under Chubb Critical Illness insurance?

The policy typically covers conditions such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, major organ transplant, and paralysis.

Are there any limitations with pre-existing conditions?

A Pre-existing Condition is not covered 
unless the date of diagnosis for such 
condition is at least 12 months after the 
certificate effective date. A pre-existing 
condition means a condition for which a 
covered person received medical advice or 
treatment within the 12 months preceding 
the certificate effective date.

How can the benefit payment be used?

The benefit payment from Chubb Critical Illness insurance can be used for any purpose, including medical deductibles, childcare, transportation, loss of income, or other financial needs.

Do I have to complete a medical exam?

You do not have to complete a medical exam, however, a pre-existing condition is not covered 
unless the date of diagnosis for such 
condition is at least 12 months after the 
certificate effective date. A pre-existing 
condition means a condition for which a 
covered person received medical advice or 
treatment within the 12 months preceding 
the certificate effective date.

Chubb Critical Illness is guaranteed issue up to the policy maximum of $30,000 for members and 50% of member face amount for spouses and children.

Are there additional benefits available with Chubb Critical Illness insurance?

Yes, with no lifetime maximum benefit, if you get sick again, you are still covered. Additional benefit include a Wellness Benefit of $50 per year.

Chubb’s Diabetes benefits helps you upon diagnosis with benefits to help pay for smoking cessation, nutrition counseling, and gym memberships.

Do I have to enroll during open enrollment or can I wait?

Eligible Members who choose not to enroll during their initial open enrollment period will not be eligible to enroll until the next qualified open enrollment period. Late enrollment is not allowed.

How do I file a claim for Chubb Critical Illness insurance?

To file a claim, you will need to submit the necessary documentation as outlined in your policy agreement and contact Chubb's Accident & Health Claims department.

How are benefits calculated?

Benefits are calculated based on a percentage of the face amount and varies by the covered condition. For instance, if a covered member is diagnose with a stroke, the member would receive 100% of the face amount of their policy.

Is my personal health information secure with Chubb?

Can I receive benefits for more than one critical illness?
